SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

IMPROVED
WORKING CONDITIONS

People all over the world are involved in the manufacture of our products. This creates a responsibility for us that we are aware of. It therefore goes without saying that we are globally committed to human rights and the improvement of working conditions. To this end, we work together with various partners. Our risk management system enables us to recognise risks in our supply chain at an early stage and do something about them. Our own teams regularly inspect our production facilities and, together with Fair Wear, we conduct training sessions on labour standards. Workers and trade unions can contact us with complaints and information via the Fair Wear reporting system.

TRANSPARENCY

We have been publishing the suppliers we work with since 2020. In the next step, we are working on making the supply chains for products directly traceable in the online shop. This will make it possible to make responsible purchasing decisions.

COOPERATION PARTNER

Collaboration with partners is of great importance to us. When selecting these partners, we attach great importance to ensuring that they not only share our values in their actions and projects, but also in their mindset and corporate culture. Our collaborations extend to social projects as well as to the entire value chain. Sustainability, social justice and ethical behaviour are not just empty words for us, but principles that we live by and want to promote together with our partners.

FAIR WEAR

When selecting and concluding contracts with our suppliers, we lay the foundation for the protection of human rights in our supply chain. We have integrated clear standards and guidelines for the protection of human rights into our contracts and regularly monitor compliance with them. Together with Fair Wear, we have been going beyond these measures since 2022 by working even more proactively on these issues: For example, we conduct training sessions with suppliers to strengthen knowledge about labor and human rights and employer obligations in the factory itself and encourage workers to stand up for their rights. Because the simplest and most straightforward problem-solving always takes place on site in the factory. 2023 comma was rated “Good” in our first Brand Performance Check by Fair Wear. Fair Wear awards this rating to companies that make serious efforts to improve working conditions in the supply chain and make concrete progress in this regard.

DKMS

As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, we are partnering with DKMS for a charity collection. Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer diagnosed in women in Europe. If it is detected at an early stage and checked regularly, it can be cured in many cases. Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an important opportunity to raise awareness of prevention, research and treatment. The pink ribbon, an international symbol of the fight against breast cancer since 1985, reminds us of our solidarity with those affected and the urgency of joint efforts.

COTTON MADE IN AFRICA

Education is a universal human right and the key to a better future. In many parts of Africa, the long and often dangerous journey to school is already a challenge. Girls in particular are therefore often unable to attend school regularly. As a brand that is continuously committed to empowering and supporting women, this Cotton made in Africa project is very close to comma's heart. Having already supported the initiative financially in 2022 with the construction of the girls' school in Mekenete, we have decided to continue our commitment to the project.
